Your Privacy is important. This statement explains how the Collaborative Professionals (WA) Inc (“CPWA”) collects, holds, uses and discloses your personal information.

CPWA abides by the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 as amended (Cth) (“the Act”).

Personal information is defined by the Act as “information or an opinion (including information or an opinion forming part of a database), whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or option.”

Why do we collection personal information?

CPWA collects information of a personal nature so that it can:

  1. Identify you and conduct appropriate checks.
    Understand your requirements and provide you with information regarding the collaborative process in resolving your relationship breakdown.
    Arrange for members of CPWA to contact you to provide information and services.
    Use the information for the preparation of statistics to be used by CPWA to evaluate the efficiency of the website and information sessions.
    CPWA does not collect personal information from you unless you provide it. It does not provide or sell personal information such as your name, address (including email address) to anyone other than a member of or employee of a member of the Association. It does not send unsolicited emails to you. Any information submitted by contact forms is optional. If email addresses are given to a member of the Association they will not be shared with anyone not involved in the Association except with your consent.

According to the Act, sensitive information is information or an opinion about an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, or political opinions or membership of a political association, or religious beliefs or affiliations, or philosophical beliefs, or membership of a professional or trade association or membership of a trade union, or sexual preferences or practices, or criminal record that is also personal information, or health information about an individual, or genetic information about an individual that is not otherwise health information.

There may be times this information is disclosed during the usual administration of CPWA’s services but it is not information it collects.

If it is disclosed it will only be disclosed if required by a Court, Tribunal or Regulatory Authority or if you consent to its disclosure to a third party.

How is personal information collected?

CPWA collects information provided to it through online enquiry forms and face to face information sessions.

The website information may be used to analyse trends and provide statistical data.

How does CPWA use your personal information?

The personal information is used to analyze the number of people who enquire about the collaborative process and how many undertake it.

This information is then used for CPWA to review its marketing strategies, but the names and addresses of individuals are never used.

Will CPWA share your information?

CPWA will not share this information with anyone unless obliged by a Court, Tribunal or Regulatory Authority or if you consent.

CPWA will protect the security of personal information collected through storing information in secure facilities.

Can you access any of the personal information?

You can access any of the personal information stored except in the circumstances set out in the Act.
